Welcome to my Blog! My name is Darrel Lang and I specialize in the Replication of Leather shot bags & Accouterments made in the colonies by the harness and saddle maker of the18th century. All items are hand sewn using waxed linen thread, dyed, then treated with neatsfoot oil & bee’s wax. The leather used is of veg. tanned cow hide 2-3 or 4-5 oz. weight. Other materials used are pig skin, period correct linens for the 18th century and iron or brass buckles. Please take a look at what I have to offer. Thank you!

Shot Bag #82

 

Shot bag completed for a customer. The bag is made from 3/4 oz.Veg tanned leather while the flap is made from two pieces of 2/3 oz. stitched back to back and edge is burnish to a finish. Sheep hide was used to finish off the opening to the bag and the large pocket on the front of the bag. Strap is 1 1/4” wide tapering to fit a 1” iron buckle. The bag is 7” wide by 6 1/2” deep, large front pocket completely hand stitched with linen thread, dyed a dark brown then treated with neats-foot oil and finished with a mixture of bee’s wax.
