Welcome to my Blog! My name is Darrel Lang and I specialize in the Replication of Leather shot bags & Accouterments made in the colonies by the harness and saddle maker of the18th century. All items are hand sewn using waxed linen thread, dyed, then treated with neatsfoot oil & bee’s wax. The leather used is of veg. tanned cow hide 2-3 or 4-5 oz. weight. Other materials used are pig skin, period correct linens for the 18th century and iron or brass buckles. Please take a look at what I have to offer. Thank you!

Leather Shot Flask

Leather shot flask that I made for a customer. It's another simple way to carry a little more shot in the field or woods. It stands about 6 1/2" from the tip of the spout to the bottom and is 3 3/4" wide at the bottom. The spout is made from brass and the stopper has a rubber O-ring to prevent it from coming out. The strap is made from braided hemp and leather and can be adjusted. Hand sewn and dyed a dark brown treated with bee's wax.

Leather Shot Snake

Finished up this leather shot snake for a customer. It's made from 3/4oz. veg tanned leather, hand stitched, waxed linen thread, dyed dark brown and treated with neat-foot oil and bee's wax. the strap is 3/4" wide with iron buckle. The spout is a simple brass head. We could not document the use of the English style shot heads being used in the 1750 so we used just a plain spout.
