Spring Hunt 2016

I finally made it out to the woods for some spring turkey hunting. It was a great time. The woods was alive with all kinds of sounds, frogs, woodpeckers, squirrels, all kinds of birds but one, Tom wasn't talking! Well the season not over yet.

This feather was all I seen of old Tom.

I went to where I shot my buck this past November. This was a big oak tree that hide my large silhouette quite well. It all looks different in the spring. I sat and took a little break and thought about that hunt again and hoping a big Tom would walk by but, no such luck
.
I don't think this oak was around in 1761 but I would like to think it was.

Case for a Folder

This is a cut steel folding knife that a customer had sent to me from maker Ben Hoffman of Hoffman Reproductions. Ben is one of the best at what he does. The customer wanted a leather case to carry the folder in and requested the sun motif tooled on the case. This is the finished product.
