Sheaths for the Late 1800

I was asked by a customer to make up sheaths for a plain old butcher knife and another for a old well used belt axe. This is what I came up with. The axe sheath is made to wear on a belt also.

A Gift for a Grandson

I was asked by Simeon England a well known ax & knife maker to make up a sheath for a very special knife that he was commissioned to make by artist David Wright for his grandson’s birthday. I was honored to take on such a task. This is the sheath that I came up with.

2023 Deer Season

A nice ten point taken at 11:30 on November 19th. I grunted and rattled him in at 15 yards.
The round ball after removal from the opposite shoulder. The ball went through both shoulders and lodged under the hide on the opposite side.

Bottle Canteen

The customer provided their own bottle for this great looking leather covered water bottle. My wife does an outstanding job on covering the different bottle we have offered. Once the leather is dried, Gail stitches it in place. I stitch the bottoms in and add the strap and finish the leather with dye and seal with beeswax.

Small folding knife & Leather Case

The folding knife is from South Union Mills and for the price it’s well made and holds a good edge.

Glass Covered Bottles

A selection of glass bottle canteens and pocket flasks.

They are all made from heavy glass bottles, covered in veg. tanned leather, hand stitched dyed and treated with bees’s wax and fitted with a cork.

Turkey Season 2023

Another spring Turkey season has come and gone and another unused tag added to the pot of soup. I chose to attend three different events in a row this year. Along with other personal activities that took place it didn’t leave me time to spend in the woods hunting. I made it out for one day at the end of the season. The birds were there but just weren’t interested in what I was offering. It was a good day to be in the woods. Hopefully I have better luck for round two, the fall hunt!

Martin’s Station, Spring of 2023

Had a great time in early May for the event at Martin’s Station. As you can see from the photos we had changing weather but no matter what the weather is, it’s beautiful.
